Low Carb Snacks

Low Carb Creamy Buttercream Keto Fat Bombs

By Evelyn

For today’s fat bomb recipe, I’m going to be walking you through how I make my ultra-popular keto-friendly creamy buttercream keto fat bombs. Me and my family are all pretty active, so we like to make this regularly as a quick go-to snack or even as a light meal. It’s that filling! This sweet treat provides a massive blast of high-quality fats that keep you in ketosis while still being incredibly tasty. Made with a terrific mix of high-quality fat heavy ingredients, it’s freezer-friendly nature means that you can always have one around when you’re absolutely desperate for something sweet and don’t want to indulge in an unhealthy snack like a candy bar.

Full of Healthy Fats

The first few low carb ingredient alternatives that you’ll be using in this coffee cake recipe include granulated Stevia or another low carb sweetener and vanilla extract. I love using both of them together in this recipe as they’re each excellent foods for keto-friendly cooking. Stevia is a natural sweet-tasting plant that can be classified as “zero-calorie,” because the calories per serving are so low, plus it’s been shown to be a healthy alternative to sugar for those living with diabetes. (1) Vanilla extract, on the other hand, has been shown to be a potent antioxidant, antibacterial, and helps reduce inflammation in the body. (2)

Silky Smooth Fat Bombs

Start by combining the full-fat cream cheese, grass-fed butter, and vanilla extract into a bowl and beat with a blender until the consistency is smooth as silk. You’ll want to make sure that you have a great mixer on hand ready to use so that making this recipe becomes quick and easy.

Now for the best part, pipe the mixture into an ice tray and place it into the freezer until your creamy buttercream fat bombs are ready to eat. Invest in a freezer-friendly container so that they last longer because you’ll be making these in the years to come. Consider it a friendly warning.

Low-Carb Fat Bomb Toppings

These fat bombs are excellent on their own. I mean, they’re like cheesecake balls in a convenient, easy-to-eat package. But if you’re like me and you want to add some variety to your selection, you could always try these low-carb toppings:

Toasted Desiccated Coconut – You can use any old desiccated coconut and toast it up in a pan over low heat. You’ll know it’s toasted when the smell of coconut permeates your kitchen. This is a great way to add flavor to your fat bombs without adding a ton of carbs.

Crushed Nuts – Feel free to use your favorite nuts with this one. I like using crushed peanuts just because I always have it on hand. It tastes great with the cream cheese!

Cocoa Powder – Cocoa powder is carb-based, but did you know it’s actually high in fiber? So the net carbs you’re adding aren’t much at all. Anyway, you only need a sprinkle with this recipe to make it chocolate-y.

Chocolate Coating – There are tons of ways to make chocolate without the excess carbs. My favorite method is through using warmed coconut butter as the base and dissolving some zero carb chocolate. The chilled fat bombs will solidify the coconut butter, coating it with a thin layer of chocolate.
