Easy 5-Ingredient Chocolate Peanut Butter Fat Bombs
Along with peanut butter and jelly, chocolate and peanut butter is my all-time favorite flavor combination. I’m not sure who the first person was to combine them, but they definitely deserve an award for their outstanding contribution. And while I usually don’t ever buy any type of candy these days, that doesn’t mean I still can’t enjoy this decadent flavor combo. Wondering how? It’s easy – I simply make fantastic recipes like the one I’m sharing today. It makes incredibly easy 5-ingredient chocolate peanut butter fat bombs that are out of this world good. If you’ve been trying to focus on eating healthier but you still want to indulge your sweet tooth with a classic treat from time to time, then these fat bombs are just what you’ve been looking for.
An All-Time Classic Made Low Carb and Keto-Friendly
My favorite thing about this recipe is definitely how incredibly easy the fat bombs are to make. Since you’ll only need to use five basic ingredients, I thought it would be a good idea to briefly go over each of the ingredients to highlight everything that they’ll be adding to the recipe.
It all starts with two tablespoons of melted coconut oil, which along with the peanut butter, will basically be acting as the glue that helps to hold your fat bombs together. Coconut oil is incredibly high in healthy saturated fats, with about ⅔ of the fat content consisting of medium chain triglyceride (MCT) fatty acids. This type of essential fat is phenomenal to use when making all kinds of low carb and keto-friendly recipes, as MCT fats help with both entering and remaining in ketosis. Since your body converts the fats directly into energy, they provide some great benefits when it comes to helping with weight loss and body composition. (1)
You’re going to be mixing your melted coconut oil with two tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder. The cocoa helps to add another great mix of both saturated and monounsaturated fats to the recipe, while also providing the decadent chocolate flavor that pairs so well with the peanut butter. Cocoa powder is also incredibly rich in beneficial flavonoids that provide all sorts of great benefits for human health, primarily thanks to their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. (2)
After combining the coconut oil and cocoa powder, you can then add two tablespoons of natural peanut butter. There are many reasons why I love peanut butter – it’s incredibly tasty, it’s a great source of heart healthy fats and potassium, and the fact it provides a solid amount of dietary fiber are just a few of them. Not to mention the obvious reason of how well it pairs with chocolate! Nut and peanut butter consumption has also been linked with a decreased risk of developing certain types of cancer as well. (3)
To finish the fat bombs off, you’ll also need to add in a single tablespoon of coconut flour and an all-natural sweetener like Stevia to taste. Just like the coconut oil, adding coconut flour into the mix provides a great mixture of saturated fats, dietary fiber, and even a bit of added protein as well. Using a sweetener likes Stevia helps to give your fat bombs a delightfully sweet taste that compliments the cocoa powder and peanut butter perfectly. After mixing all of the ingredients together, spoon your mixture into an ice cube tray and freeze them until they’ve hardened before storing them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
