A Quick and Easy Way to Fuel Up

To get started, you’ll need to grab a bowl and mix together three tablespoons of Stevia, one cup of almond flour, ¼ cup of cocoa powder, and ¼ cup of chocolate flavored protein powder. Once they’re well combined, you can slowly add in four tablespoons of unsweetened almond milk, one tablespoon at a time, until you end up with a dough that you can shape with your hands. See? I told you making these protein balls would be easy! Don’t let the simplicity of this recipe fool you though – there’s a good reason why this recipe only requires five ingredients. It’s because they all contribute to making this a delicious and nutritious snack in a big way.

Using almond flour and almonds milk is a great way to keep this recipe both dairy and gluten-free. They’re both incredibly nutrient-dense options as well, with just one cup of almond flour adding 24 grams of protein, 14 grams of dietary fiber, and 56 grams of healthy fatty acids to the recipe. They each provide many of the same great health benefits as raw almonds do as well. In fact, adding almonds into your daily diet is a great way to reduce your risk of developing heart disease due to their ability to help lower both blood pressure and LDL cholesterol levels. (1)

Raw cocoa powder is another great ingredient to use when making healthy chocolate treats. It’s rich in beneficial flavonoids that provide a wide range of fantastic health benefits, namely antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.
